When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the world stops for the entire family. Fear, worry, and fatigue are present each day as the normal school, work and family routines are disrupted by long hospitalizations, clinic appointments, and home visits.
The Pedals for Pediatrics team is dedicated “easing the burden of childhood cancer” for children and families treated at Dana-Farber/Children’s Hospital Cancer Center. All PMC funds raised by the P4P team are utilized to support patients and families through program support, direct financial assistance, and research.
The team has grown from a small group of five riders in 2004 to sixty-nine riders in 2012 raising almost $400,000. With the generous help of the Make Way for Molly team, P4P has raised a total of $2,257,211.
This is the 10th year for the Pedals for Pediatrics team. The P4P riders include family members and friends of children and families affected by childhood cancer, along with several Dana Farber and Children’s Hospital clinicians who directly care for childhood cancer patients.
The team divides funds raised between direct financial assistance for children and families, program support and pediatric cancer research. You support and contributions are greatly appreciated!
